Weekly pool cleaning
What happens on every weekly visit.
No vague “pool maintenance.” Here’s exactly what we do at your pool each week — and why each step matters in the Florida climate.

Skim the surface
We net leaves, insects, pollen clumps and anything else floating on the water. Removing debris before it sinks keeps it from staining surfaces and from feeding algae.

Brush walls, steps & tile line
Brushing loosens the thin film algae needs to take hold, especially in corners, on steps and behind ladders where circulation is weakest. The waterline tile gets attention too, where sunscreen and body oils collect.

Empty skimmer & pump baskets
Full baskets restrict water flow, which makes your pump work harder and reduces filtration. We empty them every visit.

Test the water
We test sanitizer (chlorine), pH and total alkalinity each week, and check other levels such as stabilizer, calcium hardness and salt periodically or when readings suggest it.

Balance chemicals
Using the test results, we add what your pool needs to stay clear, comfortable and gentle on surfaces and equipment. Florida heat, sun and heavy rain mean the right adjustment changes week to week.

Check the filter
We note filter pressure each visit. Rising pressure means the filter is holding more debris; we’ll let you know when a filter cleaning is due and what it involves.

Look over equipment
A visual check of the pump, filter, visible plumbing and heater or salt cell where present. We’re looking for things like leaks, unusual noise or equipment that isn’t running — and we tell you what we see.

Visit notification
After each visit you receive a short notification so you know service was completed — handy if you’re at work or away for the season.
Why weekly — not every other week?
In cooler climates, pools can sometimes go longer between visits. In Southwest Florida the combination of heat, UV and heavy seasonal rain means chlorine can drop and pH can drift within days. Weekly service catches those changes early, which is usually easier on your pool — and your wallet — than recovering from an algae bloom.
Your part between visits
- Keep the pump running on its normal schedule — circulation is what keeps water clean between visits.
- Top off the water if the level drops below the middle of the skimmer opening.
- After a big storm, clear out large branches if it’s safe to do so, and let us know if anything looks off.
- Tell us about parties, guests or anything unusual so we can plan accordingly.
Chemicals and extra treatments
Routine balancing chemicals used during your weekly visit are part of the plan we quote. Specialty treatments — algae recovery, stain treatment, phosphate removal or salt for a salt system — are explained and approved by you before anything is added.
Repairs and equipment
Weekly cleaning doesn’t include repairs. When our visual check turns up an issue, we describe what we noticed and either quote the work separately or refer you to an appropriately licensed pool contractor. You stay in control of every decision.
